Transforming Challenges into Opportunities in the Art World

My dedication to the art business and arts advocacy is driven by a deep-seated passion for the arts and a commitment to making a positive difference. I care about empowering artists, creating opportunities, advocating for inclusion, and driving social change. Through my work, I aim to address the challenges artists and collectors face, providing the guidance and support needed to thrive in the art world and make a meaningful impact on the lives of artists and art lovers alike.

Hi, I’m Moriah Alise, and my mission is to empower artists, collectors, and art enthusiasts to confidently navigate the art world, achieve meaningful success, and create valuable collections and careers.

As an artist and collector consultant, I specialize in artist development and collector guidance, helping emerging artists establish sustainable creative careers and collectors build collections that reflect their voice, values, and aspirations. My work is grounded in a deep understanding of the art market, creative strategy, and the unique dynamics that shape the art world.

A Background Rooted in Art, Strategy, and Creativity

I hold a Bachelor’s in Public Relations from the University of Houston, and my career began in communications and brand development. My experience spans over a decade, working with globally recognized brands such as Stella McCartney, Philip Bloch, Macy’s, Ulta Beauty, Buttah Skin, and JCPenney. I’ve honed my skills in brand identity, storytelling, and management while collaborating with creative teams to produce impactful campaigns and narratives.

My work extends into the art world through partnerships with esteemed institutions and projects such as the Contemporary Arts Museum Houston, Mitochondria Gallery, Houston Arts Alliance, Afro-Tech, Bush Airport, Till: The Emmett Till Film, and more. These experiences gave me unique insights into the intersection of art, commerce, and culture, which I now apply to my work with both artists and collectors.

On the entertainment and fashion side, I’ve had the privilege of collaborating with celebrated figures such as Cassie, Keri Hilson, Sevyn Streeter, and Mary J. Blige. From television set experiences with MTV to developing cohesive brand identities across music, beauty, and fashion, these opportunities have deepened my ability to craft compelling stories and position creatives in ways that resonate with diverse audiences.

Supporting Artists to Build Thriving Careers

Through Alise Art Group, I guide artists in shaping their voice, building their CVs, and navigating the complexities of the art world. I’ve helped artists secure opportunities with top organizations, win grants and awards, and achieve sold-out solo shows. My approach goes beyond surface-level strategies—I work closely with artists to ensure their growth as creators. Together, we develop career strategies that align with their aspirations and the realities of the market. By crafting tailored plans, we strategically push their careers forward and achieve their goals while maintaining their creative integrity. Whether it’s refining portfolios or negotiating fair compensation for gallery collaborations, I am committed to empowering artists to thrive.

Outside of Alise Art Group, I’ve consulted artists around the world—from South Africa to London, and across the U.S., from Los Angeles to Chicago, and back to Texas. These experiences have strengthened my ability to provide artists with actionable strategies that blend local relevance with global market insights, ensuring they’re equipped to succeed no matter where they are.

Guiding Collectors to Develop Their Voice and Vision

For collectors, my mission is to help you refine your identity as a collector and build a meaningful, cohesive collection that tells your story. My work includes curating collections for prominent collectors, such as world-renowned art patron Lester Marks, and guiding acquisitions that align with your interests and values.

I also share my insights on the art market through platforms like my YouTube channel, Dear Glory, where I create educational and entertaining content that bridges the gap between artists and collectors. From interviews with industry leaders like Larry Ossei-Mensah to videos exploring emerging artists and exhibition strategies, Dear Glory is a hub for art enthusiasts seeking to deepen their knowledge of the art world.

Bridging the Gap Between Artists and Collectors

My diverse background allows me to bridge the often-intimidating gap between artists and collectors. I bring artist perspectives balanced with market knowledge to all my endeavors, ensuring both groups can thrive. Whether you’re an artist seeking to elevate your career or a collector aiming to build a meaningful collection, I offer strategies that are both practical and empowering.

A Passion for Demystifying the Art World

Over the years, I’ve seen how exclusive and overwhelming the art world can feel, and my mission is to make it more accessible. Through consulting, content creation, and education, I aim to provide the tools, resources, and insights needed to succeed in the art world.

Whether it’s helping an artist find their voice, guiding a collector to curate a powerful collection, or creating engaging content through Dear Glory, my approach is rooted in empowerment, authenticity, and a commitment to excellence.

If you’re ready to take the next step in your journey—whether as an artist or collector—I’m here to help you navigate the path to success. Let’s work together to bring your vision to life.

This version integrates Dear Glory seamlessly into your "About Me," highlighting it as a key element of your mission and services while maintaining a focus on your consulting work and global reach.

My Work as a Curator

As I grow in my curatorial practice, I find myself increasingly drawn to the nuanced experiences of being a woman. These experiences—often shared yet disproportionately ignored, underfunded, and understudied—have become central to my work. I focus on these themes, drawing from my personal health experiences and the reality that with greater resources, these challenges could be made a little easier for women everywhere.

This perspective shapes my curatorial approach, leading me to artists whose work reflects their personal experiences as women or engages deeply with themes surrounding women’s lives. I am inspired by art that explores the complexities of identity, resilience, and the shared struggles and triumphs of womanhood. These narratives, often intimate and deeply personal, hold the power to foster empathy and spark conversations about the need for systemic change.

My exhibitions aim to provide a platform for these voices, ensuring their stories are not only seen but also valued. By curating works that highlight the experiences of women, I hope to contribute to a broader dialogue about equity and visibility, creating spaces where these often-overlooked realities can take center stage.

Through this focus, I aim to not only showcase the transformative power of art but also to advocate for the importance of resources and support that could ease the burdens so many women face. My work seeks to elevate these narratives and connect them to a wider audience, fostering understanding and creating a sense of shared humanity.

As a curator, I am committed to championing art that reflects the personal and collective experiences of women, creating opportunities for their voices to be heard, and ensuring their stories resonate within the larger cultural conversation.

  • I'm dedicated to making art accessible to all, regardless of background or circumstance. My advocacy efforts focus on breaking down barriers and creating inclusive spaces where everyone can experience and appreciate art.

  • I extend my knowledge to supporting emerging artists, providing them with the visibility and support they need to thrive. I champions the next generation of artists, ensuring that their voices are heard.

  • Arts advocacy is about building strong, vibrant communities. My work fosters connections between artists, collectors, and art enthusiasts, creating a supportive network that benefits everyone involved.

  • Art has the power to drive social change by challenging norms and sparking important conversations. I use my platform to advocate for issues such as diversity, equity, and justice within the art world and beyond.

  • The art business is a significant driver of economic growth. By fostering a thriving art community, I urge to contribute to local and global art economies, creating opportunities for artists and art professionals.

  • Through my work I hope to ensure diverse voices are heard and celebrated, contributing to a richer, more inclusive cultural landscape.

  • The art business is a hub of innovation and creativity. My approach blends traditional art practices with modern business strategies, pushing the boundaries of what art can achieve.
